Stome is born from the Galrão Group’s ambition to address the wastage of natural stone extracted from its quarries. Our vision captures the essence of reusing every fragment, no matter its condition, and elevating it into a distinct and innovative product—a true embodiment of the circular economy.
This sustainable vision converges with our profound industry know-how, integrating innovation and technology. Collaborating with Architect, Designer, and Professor Eduardo Benamor Duarte, we embarked on a journey to redefine luxury and amplify the life cycle of marble.
Launching in November, our debut line showcases ten distinctive patterns. It’s a harmonious fusion of four textures and colors: Art Deco, Bluette, Estremoz Creme, and Estremoz Fogo.
To shape this venture, Eduardo Benamor Duarte tapped into his expertise in optical illusion and bidimensional transposition—a technique that transmutes figurative and geometric design principles into tangible, human-centric spaces. He drew inspiration from the architectural and cultural treasures of southern Portugal, classical and baroque churches, and nuances from Asia and the Middle East. Each pattern carries the name of a city, encapsulating its historical, scenic, and cultural essence.
Equally pivotal is our belief that the preference for a specific stone type doesn’t negate the beauty of merging varied textures and hues. This philosophy has birthed groundbreaking designs in the marble realm.
The versatility of our product opens doors to diverse architectural and interior design applications, seamlessly integrating with other materials, be it natural stones or woods.
Our mission goes beyond crafting a sustainable and exclusive product. We aspire to inspire and challenge design and architecture professionals and aficionados to reimagine utility, valuing every fragment of these unparalleled materials.
